Place the held cable as-is and respect the aimed part when swapping
...
Taking the colour from the world cable let a swap produce a cable the player never held, and a same-type, different-colour click fell through to breaking. The swap now places the held cable and only skips on an exact match. It also ray traces the aimed part and swaps only when that part is the center cable, resyncs the client after a refused swap in creative, and drops the old cable if putting it back fails.

Keep facades and claim protection when swapping ME cables
...
Removing the center cable with updates enabled made the host drop its facades before the new cable went in. The swap also skipped the BreakEvent that the wrench fires, so claim protection did not apply. Check whether attached buses fit the new cable before removing the old one, so a failed swap no longer re-places the old cable under the swapping player.

Add Shift+Left Click swapping for ME cables

Shift+left click on an ME cable while holding a different ME cable replaces it in place, like GT5 cables. Only the center cable changes, attached parts stay. The new cable keeps the color of the old one, and the old cable goes back to the inventory.
